Description

What makes Southern baking special?  Join us on Tuesday October 15 at 7pm at the Central Library, 219 N Church Street, Greensboro NC as New York Times bestselling food writer and cookbook author Anne Byrn, shares stories and recipes from Baking in the American South - Past and Present, Near and Far, Seen and Unseen in conversation with Nancie McDermott.
With 200 recipes come from 14 states including family recipes and recipes from places like department stores, cafeterias, tea rooms, boarding houses, churches, synagogues, and even the White House, this book is a “go to” guide to baking. Illustrated with more than 150 photos taken by Georgia photographer Rinne Allen, the recipes tell stories about the land and the harvest, when there was plenty and when there was not. The book shares the joy found in reunions, homecomings, and holidays.
