Open Auditions!

We are producing a commedia dell'arte (a specific form of improvisation) performance for our Residency at the Hyers in June/July of 2025. The piece will be devised by the group, generally following the characters of commedia that are cast (each character has specific attributes which will necessarily inform the story).
This show includes movement-based performance, work with masks, and interaction with the audience.

We're looking for:
performers willing to explore improvisation, movement, and working with masks for our show
3-5 "ensemble" members to round out the cast, to be present at all performances
a group of "guests" who will perform at selected show.
performers 15 and up (but we will take folks as young as 12 with parental support)
a willingness to be present, participate, and work as a member of the ensemble.
NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!

Rehearsals take place April 8-June 22.
Residency dates are June 23-July 19, with performances the 3 weeks in July.

We cast based on the best actor for the role, regardless of perceived gender, race, age, or any other quality outside of talent shared at the audition and information provided on the audition form. Therefore, your form is a very valuable consideration; please fill it out as thoroughly and candidly as possible.
