FRANK CAMPION artist talk

The Art Gallery at Congdon Yards is delighted to invite the community to a fascinating one-hour discussion with artist Frank Campion on Sunday, March 23, from 2 pm to 3 pm. The event will highlight his exhibit, “now & then – paintings and works on paper: 2024 – 1979,” on display at the gallery.

This retrospective spans the artist’s exploration into painterly abstraction, with works from the last ten years as well as works from the 1970s and 1980s, when the artist lived in Boston. It includes several large-scale paintings as well as more intimate works on paper from both periods.

The artist’s exploration of color, gesture, and the physicality of paint is particularly compelling. In addition to cultivating a conversation around abstract art’s history and evocative nature, this exhibition also highlights Campion’s evolution of motivations, methodology, and process.

The community can view the exhibit during gallery open hours (Monday – Friday noon to 5 p.m.) until Thursday, April 17. TAG is located at 400 West English Road, Suite #151, High Point.
