About

My high relief sculptures merge my passions for building and art. If I hadn’t become an artist, I might have been an architect; I enjoy creating structures that play with space and perspective. This sensibility guides my work - I teat each piece as a construction and a canvas.

Using joint compound and epoxy clay, I coat wood panels with layers of plaster, adding texture and color to the background. I finish the sides with a stone-like texture—a nod to my rural upbringing and nature’s raw beauty.

Each layer is carefully shaped and sanded to build depth and capture light and shadow. Some works remain white to let light and shadow serve as colors, while others are painted to highlight fine details.

My goal is to spark curiosity and invite viewers to explore beyond the visible surface, imagining what lies hidden just out of sight.

My gallery and studio are in Greensboro and you can visit by appointment only.
